4th exploitation workshop in Slovenia https://evet2edu.eu/4th-exploitation-workshop-in-slovenia/ https://evet2edu.eu/4th-exploitation-workshop-in-slovenia/#comments Fri, 03 Oct 2014 11:44:23 +0000 logart https://evet2edu.eu/?p=1593 Continue reading ]]> We were invited to present our work at teacher training in CNC technology. The teachers present at this workshop were form schools from the field of mechanical engineering. The field of mechanical engineering is very fast changing and we think that this field would be most appropriate to be introduced to e-learning.
The feedback was very positive and their opinion was that this e-course would be special suitable for young teacher who are good with technology but not that good in pedagogy of using it in e-learning.

After workshops in Czech Rep. https://evet2edu.eu/after-workshops-in-czech-rep/ https://evet2edu.eu/after-workshops-in-czech-rep/#comments Mon, 29 Sep 2014 14:39:57 +0000 mareks https://evet2edu.eu/?p=1584 Continue reading ]]> Workshop - Czech RepublicRPIC-ViP organized three exploitation workshops in Ostrava in September 2014:

  • 11/09/2014 – (e)Vet2edu Exploitation Workshop within the seminar “Open schools – open opportunities”
  • 18/09/2014 – (e)Vet2edu Exploitation Workshop integrated to the course “Internal corporate education – professional trainer”
  • 23/09/2014 – (e)Vet2edu Exploitation Workshop “Open resources and on-line tools in education”.

Within these three workshops our goal was to invite and discuss topics about on-line education with the various target groups. We wanted to create a picture of how these groups perceive new possibilities offered by the online environment and if they already use or plan to use it in their classwork.

Within these workshops we met with:
- Teachers of secondary school
- High school teachers
- University teachers
- Trainers of managerial skills and soft skills
- Coaches in the field of HR
- Corporate trainers

It was especially interesting to compare lecturers and trainers active in the practice in enterprises with teachers in schools. Teachers are much more skeptical, conservative, while practitioners are able to apply ideas and are more inclined to modern forms of education.

Due to experiences from different backgrounds, it was possible to discuss the benefits and possible problems in different situations. There were also discussed areas in which it would be appropriate to solve teaching on-line. They expressed also that “grasp all, lose all” – mainly children and young people need to maintain a compromise between “virtual” and personal interactions.

On September 26th CARNet team held the third exploitation workshop. The workshop was held in form of a webinar and was attended by 25 teachers of vocational schools.

During the workshop the course “Introduction to e-learning for teachers of vocational subjects” as well as the eVET2Edu project were presented. In addition to the presentation of the course, the workshop was an opportunity for a discussion with the vocational teachers about organising the course by their institutions.

This was the last exploitation workshops organised for all the interested teachers and representatives of vocational institutions and vocational schools, with the main goal to disseminate the information about the course and the possibilities of its further use after the project is finished.

Webminars with directors of Centres in teaching and resources in Spain https://evet2edu.eu/webminars-with-directors-of-centres-in-teaching-and-resources-in-spain/ https://evet2edu.eu/webminars-with-directors-of-centres-in-teaching-and-resources-in-spain/#comments Fri, 26 Sep 2014 12:28:59 +0000 marias https://evet2edu.eu/?p=1541 Continue reading ]]> In Spain there is a network of state-funding centres specializing in teaching and resources, which work closely with regional governments. Webminars were focus on presenting the course to the directors of these centres. They are not VET teachers, they are the responsible of the teacher training and the management of the educational resources.  After getting all the contact information about the Centres in Spain, Spanish team started to contact to the responsibles of this Centres to arrange the online meeting (webminar). Finally we proposed different dates to do the webminars. Some of them could participate, others show their interest via email.

The aim of the webminars was to contact the directors of these Centres, because they are the ones who decide the training of VET teachers and develop some of the e-learning experiences in different part of Spain. Once the contact was created (by webminars or by email) some Centres have shown serious interest in implementing the course as a part of their teaching training for VET teachers. We have planned more meetings with these centres to help them to develop the course. In some chases we are planning to organize more meetings with the leaders of different educational institutions in the area. In other chases, we are planning to meet future facilitators of the course, to help them to facilitate VET teachers.

Webminars done: July, 22th. 13:00
September, 9th. 10:00
September, 17th. 10:00
September, 23th. 10:00

GITE research group has the intention of doing an annual webminar to show the work done in different projects and evet2edu would be an important part of it.

After workshops for VET teachers in Poland https://evet2edu.eu/after-workshops-for-vet-teachers-in-poland/ https://evet2edu.eu/after-workshops-for-vet-teachers-in-poland/#comments Thu, 25 Sep 2014 15:23:14 +0000 karolina https://evet2edu.eu/?p=1482 Continue reading ]]> The last week (15.09-19.09) was very busy for the Polish team of evet2edu project as we were doing series of 4 workshops for teachers from VET schools. The workshops were co-organised with KOWEZiu. In total we trained 20 teachers who represent various fields (mechatronics, engineening, economy, architecture, logictic, etc.). We offered 3 learning paths:

  • Active online learning
  • Online group work
  • Recording professional development through evidence of competences and qualification online.

After research on user requirements (WP1) and course piloting (WP4) we were aware of issues that are the most critical elements for VET teachers: collaboration, practice, and competences. The workshops were designed in reference to evet2edu e-course and based on its key elements: the concept of e-tivities, social learning and evidence-based learning.

We had in mind the blended context as VET teachers meet with learners at schools on regular basis. Therefore, the challenge for us was to prepare the workshop in such a form that would be the most usefull for our audience. During workshops we worked with active methods. The focus was put on designing engaging and authentic activities enhanced by ICT. We tried to stress that an online activity can be a small exercise which is possible to be accopplished by mixing face-to-face learning and online tools. Such approach we offered in Active online learning and Online group work. In both workshops we based on Gilly Salmon’s concept of e-tivity.

Teachers in small groups were brainstorming and disussing ideas for an activity enhanced by ICT. After that they worked out the idea in more details to finish the session with final outcome – designed activity. Groups exchanged their work and we discussed it all together collecting feedback on a flipchart.

In each group teachers developed their learning designs for students from VET schools, for instance activities required group work: a public park/playground planning, SWOT analysis of productional process; and individual activities: preparation of menu for vegetarian; developing mindmap with 7 new wonders of the world.

During the third path Recording professional development through evidence of competences and qualification online teachers were asked to identify their competences and map them with evidence. They produced digital evidence and built a draft of their e-portfolio.

We also proposed simple online tools that support individual learners’ work and collaboration among students. Padlet occured to be the most favourable tool in each workshops’ group.

It is very simple online board, easy to set up (without reqistering and logging into). As a consequence of its simplicity, Padlet is very flexible technology and can be used in every kind of activity that we can imagine. For instance, we used it to organise information around the workshops (schedule, agenda, deadlines, futher steps, links to reference materials, etc). Our teachers from Active online learning and Online group work wrote Padlet into their learning designs as learning environments where their students were expected to work/colaborate.

What is more Padlet was also used during the third workshop path Recording professional development through evidence of competences and qualification online where teachers built their e-portfolio and were amazed by its easiness and a range of possibilities in the same time.

We also decided to provide videoconference for teachers to give them a chance to experience this form of online activity. We met two times to talk about their projects and show them tool for online meeting.

From evaluation we know that all 3 workshops were ranked as very effective and engaging. We hope that Polish VET teachers have gained basic designing skills and knowledge where to dig deeper in the field of technology-enhanced learning.

Workshops in Italy https://evet2edu.eu/workshops-in-italy/ https://evet2edu.eu/workshops-in-italy/#comments Wed, 24 Sep 2014 10:42:51 +0000 Irene https://evet2edu.eu/?p=1488 Continue reading ]]> Workshop in ItalyIn September 2014, three eVET2EDU workshops were held in Italy.

Two workshops took place in the Technical Institute for Transport and Logistics “Gioeni Trabia” of Palermo, where were involved about a hundred teachers and professors of the same institute. The Institute would like to include the eVET2EDU e-course into its Moodle Platform and the Director showed the interest to integrate the course as a refresher course for his teachers.

The third one was held at CESIE office with a smaller number of teachers and trainers from different schools and VET Institutions. The workshop focused on the practical and concrete aspects of e-course.
