We were invited to present our work at teacher training in CNC technology. The teachers present at this workshop were form schools from the field of mechanical engineering. The field of mechanical engineering is very fast changing and we think that this field would be most appropriate to be introduced to e-learning.
The feedback was very positive and their opinion was that this e-course would be special suitable for young teacher who are good with technology but not that good in pedagogy of using it in e-learning.
We were honored to be able to present our work to the leaders of study groups for teachers from the field of mechanical engineering. They will be the ambassadors for spreading the word about the project and its results among mechanical engineering schools in Slovenia. We wanted to give them very good and broad information about the project and special about e-course and facilitators handbook.
We have manage to get another meeting that will be on October the 14th with the aim to invite more teachers to participate in this e-course that will be implemented through the program of further education and training for teachers. This program is organized by Ministry for education of Slovenia.
Yesterday (24th of September) we met with very interesting group of leaders of study groups for teachers from the field of mechanical engineering. They will be the ambassadors for spreading the word about the project and its results among mechanical engineering schools in Slovenia. We wanted to give them very good and broad information about the project and special about e-course and facilitators handbook.
The response was very positive and we manage to organize another meeting in the middle of October where we will be presenting the e-course to the potential e-course participants.
On Wednesday, 28th of August we had our second workshop at Biotechnical Educational Centre Ljubljana. Teacher at Centre were very interested but had some doubts about the amount of time and work that had to be invested in ending the e-course. They are thinking about using parts of the e-course in their classes.

Our multilingual e-learning environment is now up and running with multimedia, activities and assignments in 9 languages! The most time consuming tasks – translating and synchronising the subtitles and grapics is also done. Relatively easy task turned out to be rather tedious but the videos and graphics are definetly worth it. They are a crucial part of Module 5 dedicated to video-making, but you may find them also in Module 6 (re-use of content).
The registration form will be also multilingual so that teachers and trainers can easily create their accounts and sign up for the particular course. The recruitment is under organisation now in each country as the partners will run the piloting in different periods, from November ’13 till March ’14. Details will soon follow so stay tuned!
Silence it is here but we are all very busy finalising the redesign of the course for teachers and trainers. What is new there, then?
There is a brand new module that forms a framework for the whole course – Developing Competences. We decided that this is crucial for VET, so there is going to be some cool videos and mind-blowing activities that will help teachers and trainers to re-think competencies and skills.
Another novelty is greater focus on resources, as they seem to be the lacking element for VET sector. So there will be two modules on that: one dedicated to creating and publishing multimedia, the second on re-using and re-mixing the resources already availiable.
There are some new activities designed, some videos being shot and some infographics added to stay tuned – the open piloting of the open course will be launched in October 2013.
